January 1st, 1140am, brainstorming the 1st blog post of 2021
If the weather today is any indication of how this year will be I’m all for it. Now I know in other parts of the continental US and around the world the weather is not the same. But here where I am, at this moment this late morning the weather is extremely warm for this time of year. Although it rained all night long and will probably continue to rain throughout the day the temperature is pleasant and inviting. 
I’m not too concerned about the elements. You can find shelter from rain, wind and snow. In fact I plan to take advantage of this weather and sit out on my back patio. Something I looked forward to during the summer months. In the mornings before it got too hot I would go out there to enjoy the space intentionally created for peace, reflections, prayer and writing.
Yes, yes I know the year just started and like last year, January 1st there was no indication of what was to come but I dare to imagine, believe and even declare, for me and mine this will be a warm and inviting year. There will be plenty of sunshine and rain. Both are necessary for growth. I just believe we have seen and done enough in the past twelve months to accomplish our hopes and dreams in the next twelve. I believe enough seeds have been sown for 2021 to be better.
2020 did not go as any could have imagined but may I ask, if there were no pandemic or an uprise in social injustices how would your year have been different? What plans did you make that had to be postponed? What trips, family gatherings or business ideas had already been scheduled and planned? What did you do with those plans? If you just put them away and said you’ll get to them later, now is the time to get to them. We’ve had months of adjusting so finding our way into how we move forward is, at this moment, to go for it safely
So as I take a view of the things happening in the world around me; my family, my community, my country, in these early days there has already been both sunshine and rain. Yet again I choose to remain optimistic that it will all turn out beautiful, we will accomplish our missions and dreams and I hope the same for you as well.
